Identity | Original Painting
Sometimes, a painting begins to reveal its own story.
As I painted the woman, I felt a gentle prompting to add darkness around her. I did not understand why, but I followed the impression and continued to paint freely.
When I stepped back, I suddenly saw the silhouette of a lion emerging from the darkness.
In that moment, I felt Jesus speak to my heart about our identity in Him.
Our true identity is not found in our circumstances, our past, or the opinions of others. It is found in Christ. In Him, we are loved, chosen, redeemed, and called His own.
This painting reminds me that even when we cannot see what God is doing, He is still at work beneath every brushstroke of our lives—gently revealing who we were created to be.
My prayer is that Identity will encourage you to stand confidently in who God says you are and remember that you belong to the Lion of Judah.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!”
