About the Painting

One night, I had a dream that felt so real that I still sometimes wonder whether it was only a dream—or whether I truly experienced something extraordinary.

In the dream, I was sitting on a swing high above the clouds. Beneath me, the clouds were white, and the entire atmosphere was filled with a heavenly golden light. The glory of God surrounded everything. The feeling of sitting there was indescribable—a peace and joy unlike anything I had ever known filled me completely.

Then I heard a voice behind me say:

“Come up here.”

The voice belonged to Jesus, who was standing behind me, gently pushing the swing.

At that moment, I woke up and heard myself cry out into the room:

“I have to paint this!”

Later, I looked up some of the symbols from the dream in a book about biblical and prophetic symbolism. The movement of swinging back and forth can represent the highs and lows of life. The swing itself can speak of a deep flow of peace, while the white clouds may symbolize God’s glory and a season of joy and abundance.

Through this painting, I sense that Jesus is calling us to seek Him more deeply than ever before.

In times when darkness and unrest seem to surround us on every side, we can find a peace and joy in His presence that surpasses all understanding.
